Billet Families
At Excel Hoops Prep we look to support our athletes with flexibility in their living situation, so that talented players from across Canada can attend our program.
We work with a network of invested Billeting Families that believe in the Excel Hoops Vision and Mission, and live our Core Values to provide our athletes a safe, comfortable and supportive home for temporary residence during the school year.
We are always looking for new families to partner with, below is an overview of what the billeting experience entails.
What we look for in a Billet Family:
Clean, smoke-free welcoming home
Private room with a bed, good mattress and a desk/workspace for homework
Nutritious meals and snacks
Proximity to Turner Fenton Secondary School
Support of team rule enforcement including curfew, community engagement, academic standards etc.
Your Responsibilities:
A private room with single or double bed per player; a good mattress is important
Dresser & Closet Space
Suitable private area with good light & desk space for studying / homework
A player may share a room with another player, but NOT with another member of the billet family
Providing towels, shower supplies (Personal items such as shampoo, toothpaste, and other toiletries are the responsibility of the player)
Personal laundry is to be done by the player
Dry Cleaning is the player’s responsibility
High-speed internet
Nutritional healthy meals
Parking space should be provided for a player with his own vehicle (note: very few players have vehicles)
Your Benefits:
2 complimentary tickets per billeted player for all Excel Hoops Prep home games including playoffs
Monetary compensation of $600.00 per month, per player
